Create a cohesive branded kit for a selected client. The kit should expand on the client’s existing visual identity through original, custom design concepts that align with their established look and feel. The final deliverables include three retail-branded products of your choice, along with a rationale explaining the selection of each product and how it supports the brand. Create a single page Call To Action graphic that helps to entice our followers to post the kit they receive to their social media.

The Process
The first step in this project was selecting a brand with a strong mission and a well established product line. I chose ILIA for its commitment to clean, natural beauty and its willingness to challenge industry conventions. Their emphasis on high-quality formulations and thoughtfully designed packaging provided a strong foundation for creative exploration. With a presence in major retailers such as Sephora and Nordstrom, as well as a robust affiliate program, ILIA represents a modern, trusted brand with significant market reach. This made it an ideal client to develop cohesive, retail-ready products that align with both their values and elevated aesthetic.
The Products
This product features a boxed set of mini bath bombs designed to support a beauty focused self-care routine. The packaging integrates the message directly onto the box, eliminating the need for a separate insert and reducing material waste. The copy reads: “Thank you for your hard work promoting our brand—so take a night off. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your beauty sleep.”
Unlike traditional bath bombs packaged in plastic, this design uses recyclable paperboard, aligning with the brand’s commitment to sustainability and elevated retail presentation.
Candles play a key role in creating a calming atmosphere, making them a natural addition to the relaxation kit. This design features a contemporary arch-shaped candle, reflecting current trends while remaining timeless and minimal.
The neutral color palette and subtle branding align with the brand’s visual identity. The logo is debossed directly into the candle, creating a refined, tactile detail that enhances the product’s elevated yet understated aesthetic.
The final product is a silk pillowcase, an often overlooked luxury that offers both beauty and wellness benefits. Silk helps protect skin and hair by reducing friction, preventing damage, and retaining moisture, making it an ideal addition to a nighttime relaxation experience.
This product features the brand’s motto, “Protect and revive your skin,” reinforcing its functional and emotional value. Embossed or embroidered branding enhances the tactile quality of the silk, elevating the product’s sense of luxury and refinement.
The packaging was designed with reusability in mind, taking the form of a makeup and toiletries bag. This functional approach extends the life of the packaging beyond its initial use while aligning with the brand’s aesthetic.
At the time, the brand did not offer a makeup bag, this concept presents an opportunity to expand their product line while reinforcing both sustainability and everyday utility.
Call to Action Using Variable Data
A custom promotional graphic was created for influencers to encourage social sharing. ILIA affiliates earn 10% commission on sales, so ambassadors are incentivized to post either an unboxing video or the provided graphic via a QR code. Each ambassador receives a unique promo code, offering followers 10% off and entry into a giveaway for a Beauty Sleep Box.
To personalize the experience, I used an Excel spreadsheet containing each ambassador’s name, favorite product, and promo code, which was exported as a CSV and merged into InDesign. This data driven approach allowed each graphic to dynamically update, ensuring individualized content tailored to each ambassador.
To streamline the sharing process, a QR code was included that links directly to a ready to post story graphic. A designated area within the design allows ambassadors to easily insert their unique promo code.
This approach simplifies content creation for affiliates while incentivizing their followers to purchase, strengthening engagement and supporting the brand’s affiliate marketing strategy.
